Join Michelle at Yantra studio for a soothing, nourishing and educational 2 hours in laying down the roots for a positive and empowering post menopause/ second spring.
Welcoming you at any stage of the menopause or maybe not there yet but would like to learn more about how yoga can support you. This session will focus on the importance of reducing stress during the menopause. How the changing hormones during peri menopause especially creates a stress response in the body and how taking time to rest, to pause and reflect is so important to reduce overwhelm, anxiety and fatigue.
This workshop will begin with a woman’s circle- a safe and supportive space to share experiences if you wish and to connect with others that understand, this is empowering in itself. The timetable is as follows:
Pranayama to help calm the mind
Yoga sequence to ground and connect breath and movement
Restorative yoga poses for deep rest and release
Savasana
Time to chat, ask questions and have some cake
Suitable for any level of yogi and you don’t need to be in menopause, you may want to connect
with others and take some soothing time for yourself.
About Michelle
Hi I’m Michelle it’s really lovely to meet you.
I have been working in the wellbeing sector for over 30 years. I started as a holistic therapist/bodyworker and for the past 4 years have been integrating teaching yoga alongside my holistic therapies.
In 2019 I attained my yin yoga accreditation , training with the incredible Anglea Jervis Read in Leeds. As a body worker I’m obsessed with fascia. Training with Angela unlocked a passion to teach more.
In 2020, I embarked on the 200-hour teacher training, closely followed by the 300-hour yoga course. It was a very rewarding moment when I received my 500-hour yoga master accreditation with the Yoga Alliance shortly after turning 50 years old.
As I was beginning to struggle with my own peri menopause I wanted to explore more about how yoga could support myself and others.
Training as a Menopause yoga teacher with Petra Coveny in 2022 was a life-enhancing experience. It’s a privilege to share these informative and empowering classes with other women as they move through their own menopause.
Yoga really is for everybody and the many benefits are experienced from day one. It gives you the space to be present, explore the breath, connect back in with the body and to rest. It impacts life not only on the yoga mat but shines out into daily life.
I live in Norwich with my husband Col and cats Ziggy and Suki.
"The most important relationship we can have is the one you have with yourself, the most important journey you can take is one of self-discovery. To know yourself, you must spend time with yourself, you must not be afraid to be alone, knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom." Aristotle
