  • I came to a yoga practice as a Contemporary dance student in the 1980s. Later, I got immersed in the sweaty dance-like movement meditation of Ashtanga Vinyasa, and spent many years practising and teaching the form. I've been lucky enough to study with some amazing teachers including John Scott and Hamish Hendry

My formal teaching certification is from The Life Centre (now Yoga Campus in London) but I've taken many, many workshops and intensives including more recently in Restorative Yoga with Anna Ashby and Chris Swain at Triyoga.

I have degrees in dance and postgraduate qualifications in dance science from Middlesex University & Trinity Laban Conservatoire, as well as a PhD in yoga and dance. I've taught and lectured in many elite dance training establishments including Rambert School and created a dance-specific yoga teacher training in 2012

My first studio in Norwich was The Yoga Room and I've taught all over the City in gyms, yoga centres and privately and on retreats here and abroad.

I'm a Yoga 'Elder' but feel a sense of lightness and energy in my 60's that I never had before! Yoga, Works!

  • I draw deeply from the Classical yoga traditions I have experienced over 35 years of practice including; the intensity, heat and dynamism of Ashtanga and the subtle yet creative play of Vinyasa. I love to dive deep into Restorative yoga.

Embodied awareness and alignment interest me as does the relationship between our breath and physical and emotional states. Recent research into Yoga & Neuroscience now allows a deeper understanding of how these practices work and I try to weave both creative exploration and scientific underpinning into my classes.

  • From my dance background, I tended to dip in and out of yoga classes for many years, as I didn't quite find what felt right for me. I took a route into therapy alongside my dance career and trained to be a Shiatsu practitioner, which involves lots of Qi Gong, energy exercises and bodywork. At Shiatsu College Brighton (where I trained) I met Annie Cryar, a Shiatsu practitioner & teacher and Yoga teacher. Annie had just opened a Yoga Teacher Training College in Hastings and offered me a scholarship to become a yoga teacher. I was enthused as Annie approached yoga through the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, and the quality of Qi Gong and Shiatsu had a huge change in how to connect to Yoga.

I obtained my 500-hour teacher training in 2018 and haven't looked back since! I realise Yoga is dance, a movement connected to the present, and a way to find space in our body and mind.

  • I love connecting to the changing seasons, linking with Chinese Medicine and the Meridian's expressions to movement and Yoga. I also work with Scaravelli's approach, working with gravity, riding the wave of the breath, and finding a great connection with our waist and legs as tree roots so we can find ease within our whole body. I work gently connecting with Yoga and yet find where I/we end up with a joyous surprise.

  • A space where you can settle into your body, finding space and breath. A nourishing practice that can also be rejuvenating, sometimes slowing things down, to then find swiftness and ease in a movement. My saying is "I take my seriousness lightly and my lightness seriously!”

  • I love being creative, anything to keep me out of mischief!

  • I spent 4 years living in LA whilst my husband was posted there with the RAF. Whilst there I became obsessed with yoga practicing daily at my local yoga studio. It is when living out there that I completed my first yoga teacher training and started teaching hot yoga in a Baron Baptise yoga studio. My first yoga influence was Kathryn Budig whom I fell in love with thanks to her playful fun classes. I then went on to become inspired by Patrick Beach.

At the time he had a studio in LA that I used to go to regularly. And have since been on teacher trainings with him including a teaching called Awakening Inversions. He sparked my love for practising and teaching inversions!

I have been to Goa to train with The Yoga People. I love teaching Mandala Vinyasa, Rocket and yin yoga thanks to them.

Mandala Vinyasa especially really influenced my style of teaching. My most recent training has been with Lara Heiman and the LYT method. I am a bit of an anatomy nerd.

Her training are based on her physiotherapist perspective and have changed the way I teach.I obtained my 500-hour teacher training in 2018 and haven't looked back since!

I realise Yoga is dance, a movement connected to the present, and a way to find space in our body and mind.

  • My approach to yoga is an exploration in to how the body can move through space. I am a creative person so I really enjoy sequencing flows and coming up with new ways of connecting poses together! The aim of my classes is always to help my students find a connection and awareness to their own bodies. Initially through observation in the stillness at the start of class. But then in the movement and flow. I love the feeling of flow state that can come from a flow yoga practice, I feel it really takes me out of my head and in to my body.

  • You can expect creative, dynamic sequencing that draw inspiration from many teachers and trainings I have learnt from over the years. I teach in a layered way that offers variations for all levels. There are lots of opportunities to play around with inversions and arm balances. I like to keep my classes fun and hold space for you to explore what your body can do. I like to work on strength, stability, mobility and flexibility. So you can expect to walk away from my class feeling more balanced.

  • Nicknamed ‘GO-GO’ as a child - movement was destined to be a huge part of my life. I trained in Theatre at Bretton Hall and Contemporary Dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and I began my career as an actor, independent Dance artist and Choreographer. I went on to certify as a Comprehensive Studio Pilates Instructor in 2008 with accreditations from the Pilates Institute, Stott Pilates and Polestar Pilates and became a fully certified Feldenkrais practitioner with the Feldenkrais guild of North America and a proud member of the Feldenkrais guild UK in 2023.

  • My commitment is to holistic wellness and a belief in the power of movement as a catalyst for positive change. My goal is simple yet profound: to help my clients know themselves better, embrace their bodies with kindness and acceptance, and reclaim the joy of movement without limitations.

  • I strive to create a fun, non-judgemental environment which supports learning through doing with pleasure and enjoyment, allowing the body and mind to access its own drive toward optimal wellness.

  • I love moving - hiking, dancing, Yoga, surfing, weight training etc. However, my non-moving practises are what have made huge changes in my own wellness journey. As an attendee of Quaker meetings, I have a strong spiritual practice of "waiting and listening” which grounds me in mindfulness to balance out my "GO-GO" nature.

  • Pilates has been a big part of my life since I started dance college, I loved how the movements in Pilates complemented my dance practice. Once I gained my Pilates qualification in 2015, I spent a year working in a Physio lead Pilates studio in Brighton. Working with skilled practitioners increased my knowledge in this field no end.

  • I like to make Pilates accessible to everybody. My passion is to help people move & take time for themselves. We all lead busy lives so being able to have an hour to connect with your mind and body is a skill I feel everyone deserves.

  • Movements that concentrate on working through the core, improving flexibility, spinal exercises to release tension in the back and I promise you will leave feeling taller!

  • I love to travel!! I have been on adventures that have taken me around the world twice!

  • My journey with yoga began several years ago when I first walked into a studio seeking a way to balance the stress of daily life. From that first class, I was captivated by the combination of physical challenge, mental focus, and inner peace that yoga offered. As I delved deeper into my practice, I discovered Ashtanga yoga, a traditional and dynamic form of yoga that became my main influence and passion.

The disciplined, flowing sequence of postures and the synchronisation of breath and movement in Ashtanga resonated deeply with me. I assisted my teacher in a mysore setting for a year before going on to train in India in Ashtanga and Vinyasa, immersing myself in its philosophy and practice. This rigorous training has shaped my approach to yoga, emphasising the importance of alignment, breath control, and the transformative power of a consistent practice. I have also completed training in Kids yoga, Pregnancy and Hot yoga which really supported me during times of injury.

  • My approach to movement and yoga is centered around the belief that true yoga transcends the aesthetics of each pose and instead focuses on the inner felt experience. It is through this mindful practice that we can connect deeply with ourselves and cultivate a holistic sense of well-being. Breath is the cornerstone of my practice. I emphasize the importance of synchronizing breath with movement, allowing the breath to guide and inform each transition and pose. This breath-centered approach not only enhances physical performance but also fosters a meditative state of mind, promoting relaxation and mental clarity. Free movement and listening to the body are key principles I uphold. I believe that each body is unique, and honoring its needs and limitations is essential. I invite students to explore their range of motion, adapt poses to suit their individual anatomy, and move in ways that feel intuitive and nourishing. This emphasis on personal exploration helps students develop a deeper connection with their bodies and fosters a more sustainable and fulfilling practice.

  • The focus will be on the inner felt experience rather than achieving perfect form. Students will be guided to tune into their body's sensations and emotions, fostering greater self-awareness and presence. A welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where all levels of practitioners can feel comfortable and supported in their journey. Encouragement to explore personal potential and embrace the unique capabilities of their bodies, leading to a more fulfilling and sustainable practice.

  • I find immense joy and rejuvenation in being in water, whether it's swimming in the ocean, taking invigorating cold plunges, or relaxing in hot baths.

  • I've been practiscing for 15 years and teaching since 2015, I studied my first traditional Hatha 200hr in Hong Kong, and in 2019 studied Advanced Vinyasa and Ashtanga 300hr in India. While living in Asia I felt an immediate affinity with Eastern philosophical concepts on holistic health. I’m interested in the philosophical and spiritual teachings of Yoga. We discipline the body to discipline the mind. My classes are challenging, but always with moments of mindfulness and talking points woven in throughout. I was a part of the founding team for the Yoga program at Soho House Hong Kong, other studios include, Hong Kong University and Equinox Gyms in London. I taught for 3 years at HKore Hong Kong, A Lagree Fitness (Pilates-style) studio after completing the in-house training.

  • My approach to Yoga is to make classes fun and lighthearted, every body is different and for me it’s about the flow, the switching off of the monkey mind for a while and feeling refreshed and reset at the end. I offer interesting variations and suggest the use of props.

  • To get into the flow state, destress and rebalance.

  • I’ve taught at Yoga at festivals in 3 different countries.

  • As an actor and movement artist, yoga has long been a part of my journey. I began to dive deeper into my practice when lockdown hit in 2020 and I needed a way to look after my body and stay sane living back under my parents' roof! I soon discovered the benefits went way further than the effects on my body, and fell in love (hard!) with the practice. I completed my initial Yoga Teacher Training at Trimurti Yoga in Goa in 2023, and have since taken further modules in Ashtanga Adjustments and Pre and Post-natal Yoga. Having recently become a mum myself, yoga in all its forms has become more important than ever.

  • I love creative vinyasa, intuitive movement and ecstatic dance practices, although the precision of Ashtanga and Rocket also light me up - it depends on the day of the week! I believe the two ends of the spectrum complement each other and are both important for me to feel balanced in body and in mind.

  • My classes are influenced by a belief in movement as medicine, a desire to discover the body's wisdom, and a deep curiosity towards the mind body soul connection. Students can expect to dive deep, find flow and feel free! Cultivating strength, softness and openness is the name of the game – both on and off the mat.

  • I've been teaching yoga full time since I completed my 200HR teacher training in India in 2018 after being introduced to Ashtanga and Vinyasa some years before. Since then I have continued to deepen my knowledge and understanding of the body, and our relationship to it, through training in various different disciplines of yoga, including Prana-Mandala Flow, Yin and Restorative yoga, as well as 300HR teacher training with the school of 'Authentic Flow' in various somatic yoga modalities, and 580HR studies in Yoga Therapy with 'The Minded Institute'; bringing over 1000 hours of training together into a unique blend that informs my teaching approach today.

  • My approach to movement and yoga is a somatic approach that cultivates a deeper connection to the body, teaching people to listen and respond to the internal language of the body through movement and somatic explorations of yoga asana. It is also largely informed by my therapeutic background and understanding of the nervous system, working with ways of lifting and lowering the nervous system in order to become more adaptable and responsive, to ebb and flow more easily with life. My classes always prioritise giving students agency over their body and choices.

  • To connect to themselves more deeply. To learn to listen to the language and wisdom of their own bodies. To become more attuned to their own needs and more skilled in how to respond to them.

  • I have a degree in Drama & Performance and had always planned to go into 'Drama Therapy' but never made it there directly... I derailed and spent six years living in Italy working as an English language teacher. I've now come full circle after discovering yoga, doing all sorts of trainings and now here I am!

  • My mother practised yoga for many years. When I started doing it I realised how much I enjoyed it and how good it could make me feel.

Yoga has given me new energy. It has helped me to deal with a range of physical and emotional issues.

When I was 23, my mother died and then I suffered from post-natal depression. Doing yoga helped me to get through that very difficult time by calming my mind.

I also suffered arthritis in my hands, and after being given drugs and braces for my hand and wrists and sent on my way, I found that a regular yoga practice was far more effective. It helped me to stop taking the medicine and made me much stronger.

I knew I wanted to teach, and since then have trained with some amazing teachers including; 500 hours with Vonnie Bloom through the British Wheel of Yoga and many many more, including ; Abby Hoffmann, Jennifer Moss and Jambo Dragon

I run the Wellness Tent at Flackstock Festival, which is truly one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. We have raised over 650000 so far for mental health charities. I teach privately and in groups. I am also involved in a new festival, which is about reviving Shoreditch’s nightlife scene, I am doing disco yoga on a limo with Massive Attack. I Love my job!!

  • My approach to yoga is building strength first and then working on flexibility. People say oh I can't do yoga, I am not flexible. Most people aren’t and who cares?

  • I am a wear your heart on your sleeve, kind of girl. I say it as it is, I love yoga classes to be a good laugh and I love a bit of banter. My 26-2 will be kick arse. Radiant Flow will be strong and Nourish and Restore chilled but I am sneaky and you will feel it a couple of days later. Yoga should be a fun experience.

  • I live off the grid, I have 3 kids. 2 have flown the nest and are flying. I sauna and cold shower most days.

  • I have had the privilege of being a student at Abby’s classes for over ten years, during which time I have also taken courses and classes with a wide range of teachers, both locally and internationally. Abby’s approach to teaching is one of integrity and authenticity, underpinned by an enormous wealth of knowledge of the human form and emotional understanding. All of which is enhanced by her dance background and past academic role as a lecturer in the field. This inspires security and confidence in her classes; you know you’re in safe hands! I genuinely believe that Abby’s yoga teaching is amongst the best I have ever had the benefit of receiving and I highly recommend her classes, whatever your yoga experience.
