  • Yes, please always check in at our Reception with the teacher before you get changed or head into the studio. This is for your own health and safety and security, so we know who is in the building.  This will ensure you do not get charged a late cancellation fee for non attendance. You can also check yourself in on the App within a 100 yard radius of the studio.

  • We suggest you arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your class starts. We cannot admit latecomers as the door will be locked just before class starts and the teacher won’t be able to let you in.  This is for safety and security.

  • We understand that cancellations are sometimes unavoidable – but cancelling late or not attending at all often stops other students from booking places in that class. The aim of our cancellation policy is to improve the Yantra experience for everyone and make it easier for all students to be able to attend the classes they want to.

We operate a 6 hour cancellation window. If you cancel your class within this window the credit will be returned to your class pack. If you have a membership you won’t be penalised but if you cancel outside of this window we will apply a  £5 charge to your account. If you are a  ‘no show’ we will apply the same £5 charge to your account. Please see our Terms and Conditions

We limit everyone to a maximum of two pending bookings on any single day. Once you have checked into a class, this booking is no longer pending.

  • We accept cards and cash for items bought at the studio. We can only take cards for class bookings and memberships and these need to be purchased through our app or website. We can do this for you in studio. Please ask for help setting up your account if you are unsure.

Questions About Hot Yoga & Our Classes

  • We aim to make all our classes beginner-friendly, but if you are just starting out we recommend taking the Nourish and Restore to begin with as it is slow-paced and often uses props. Ashtanga Yoga is one of the most challenging of all the classes so it's advisable to talk to us about whether or not this class would be suitable if you are a total beginner to yoga.

  • As with any other yoga, it's advisable not to eat for approximately 2 hours before. It’s important to hydrate yourself before, and after class. We do not recommend drinking a lot of water during a hot yoga class but your teacher will give you more information.

Hot yoga can be intense and may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions such as heart problems, heat intolerance, or pregnancy. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise regimen. You will need a towel to go on top of your mat which you can hire or buy from us. Wearing light clothing is essential for movement and because you will be sweaty! We recommend shorts and a vest top or sports bra (for women). The heat can be challenging but you will acclimatise. Stay hydrated and breathe slowly.

  • Hot yoga is a style of yoga practiced in a heated room, typically ranging from 90 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit (32 to 40 degrees Celsius). The heat is intended to replicate the climate of India, where yoga originated, and to enhance flexibility, detoxification, and cardiovascular benefits.

  • Increased Flexibility: The heat allows muscles to stretch more easily, improving flexibility.

Detoxification: Sweating helps to eliminate toxins from the body.

Cardiovascular Workout: The elevated heart rate provides a cardiovascular workout.

Improved Strength: The poses build muscle strength.

Stress Relief: The practice promotes relaxation and reduces stress. A recent study shows the benefits of the original 26/2 sequence for people suffering anxiety and depression.

  • Yoga Mat: A non-slip mat is essential. We have these in studio but you are welcome to bring your own.

Towel: A large towel to cover your mat and a smaller one for wiping sweat. We have these to hire.

Water Bottle: Hydration is crucial before and after class.

Light Clothing: Wear moisture-wicking, breathable clothing.

  • Hydrate Well: Drink plenty of water before class.

Avoid Heavy Meals: Eat light, easily digestible foods a few hours before class.

Arrive Early: Arrive 10-15 minutes early to acclimate to the heat.

Inform the Instructor: Let the instructor know if you are new or have any medical conditions.

Please arrive clean for your practice paying particular attention to your feet and avoid heavy perfumes as these can affect your fellow students.

  • Hot yoga can be intense and may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions such as heart problems, heat intolerance, or pregnancy. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise regimen.

  • Frequency depends on your fitness level and goals. Beginners might start with 1-2 classes per week, gradually increasing as they become more comfortable. Regular practitioners may attend classes 3-5 times per week.

  • We do. A private session with your teacher can be a beneficial experience and help you to develop your yoga practice.

Please email hello@yantrastudio.co.uk for more information

  • The yoga room is a quiet space and we do not allow phones to be brought in.

We discourage the use of tracking devices such as Garmin or Apple watches.

We want you to leave the world outside, focus on your body, and breath for 60 minutes.

Try to keep noise and chat to a minimum as people may be meditating or in savasana.

After class, you can socialise in our reception or courtyard space.

Always inform your teacher of any injuries or issues that might affect your ability to enjoy your class fully. If you wish to convey this information in private please email hello@yantrastudio.co.uk.

  • We recommend hydrating well before and after class. A few sips of water during class is fine, but gulping a lot can make you feel nauseous.

The hot yoga experience focusses on building resilience and staying present in the moment.

In the Original 26/2 class, you will be directed to have your first sip after the warm-up sequence.
